Rather than being a specialist, you will be a generalist, moderately versed in a variety of subjects within business, and to your own liking. The doors are thus wide open for careers in marketing, management, finance, or any of the other functions found in the College of Business. And if you decide to pursue further education, you will already be well grounded in all of the fundamentals, allowing you to dive in quickly and reach for even higher targets. Students may choose from a broad range of upper level business courses creating a degree diverse and applicable to several business fields upon graduation. Additionally, students may select several courses from the same area to increase understanding, application, and competency regarding that specific business discipline.

A high-quality business degree should be structured to teach you the skills needed to be competitive in the workforce. Core concepts include financial reporting, ethical decision making, organizational communication, leadership and principles of management. Students can also align their program with their career goals by specializing in a certain area. Given the general nature of the a General Business degree, there are a wide variety of career opportunities available for these graduates, including positions in management, sales, insurance, banking, real estate and human resources, to name a few!
